ThePioneer Elite VSX-90 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiverdelivers powerful surround sound, elevated height channel support, wireless connectivity, and near-4K video upscaling. This model produces up to 100W of power per channel at 8 ohms and supports dual subwoofer connections for enhanced low frequency sound. The VSX-90 features seven discrete amplifier channels and is designed to deliver dynamic sound from high-resolution audio formats like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Integrated Advanced MCACC Pro room calibration allows you to tailor the sound of the receiver to your listening environment using the calibration microphone. It even incorporates high-quality ESS SABRE Premier digital-to-analog converters for optimized sound reproduction.

Built-in dual-band Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity allows you to access Internet radio sources like vTuner and Pandora. Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay are on-board, which allows you to wirelessly stream music from compatible audio sources such as smartphones and tablets. DLNA support is also available for streaming content from your other network-enabled DLNA compatible devices.

The Pioneer VSX-90 is equipped with seven HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs for interfacing high-resolution audio and video components like Blu-ray players and streaming devices. In addition to 1080p, 3D, and 4K pass-through, this model can upscale lower resolution video to near-4K quality when used with a compatible display. This model also has a front-panel USB port that supports high-resolution audio formats like FLAC and WAV. For enhanced system control, the free iControlAV5 app is available for download on iOS and Android devices. This app will allow you to control the receiver from your compatible smartphone and tablet.

Dolby Atmos
When paired with Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers and content, the VSX-90 allows you to enjoy immersive content thanks to the addition of two additional height channels.
HDMI and HDCP 2.2
The VSX-90 features full-bandwidth HDMI Ultra HD Pass-through and 4K/60p upscaling). HDCP 2.2 (High-Bandwidth Digital Copy Protection) helps ensure compatibility with 4K Ultra HD sources and televisions. With seven HDMI inputs, the VSX-90 handles 4K Ultra HD video at 60 frames per second and also supports 4:4:4-based 4K 60p content, offering up to 18 Gb/s throughput.
Dual-Band Wi-Fi
Two antennas on the rear panel are designed to provide maximum signal strength, and supporting both bands means higher throughput and greater Wi-Fi range.
Built-In Bluetooth
The VSX-90 lets you enjoy wireless Bluetooth audio from A2DP profile Bluetooth-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computers. Additionally, you can enjoy enriched quality with Sound Retriever AIR technology, designed specifically to enhance Bluetooth audio.
Icon-Based Graphical User Interface
The on-screen graphical user interface can be displayed in seven languages. The GUI features a simple menu structure with multiple icons that are designed to be easy to use and navigate.
Custom Installation
The VSX-90 offers both RS-232C interface and full IP control, providing compatibility with popular home automation systems. For custom-installed home theater solutions, it offers multi-zone audio and video capability. For example, you can play your home theater in one room, route the HD Zone (HDMI) to a second room, and listen to analog music in a third room.
Internet Radio, Pandora, and Spotify
Not only can you enjoy thousands of Internet radio stations around the world with vTuner, you can also access your favorite music from Pandora and Spotify, complete with on-screen album art and music information. Spotify Connect is a premium subscription feature that lets you play and control Spotify with your smart devices.
AirPlay, HTC Connect, and DLNA
The VSX-90 lets you enjoy AirPlay connectivity, offering Made for iPhone certification for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. As a networked receiver, it supports Apple's AirPlay mirroring technology, allowing you to enjoy your favorite music from iPhone, iPod, or iTunes anywhere in the house. This Pioneer receiver also supports HTC Connect, the unified approach for streaming music wirelessly from select compatible HTC smartphones. There's no need for a separate app, since HTC Connect is built right into your phone's music player and streams high-quality, WAV-format files. Additionally, the VSX-90 is Windows 8.1 Certified, and also supports DLNA 1.5 media streaming, which lets you access your favorite music from a DLNA server or computer connected to the same home network. Not only are compressed music files such as MP3, WMA, and AAC supported, but also high-resolution files, such as FLAC, WAV, AIFF, and Apple Lossless.
iControlAV5 App
Whether controlling volume, switching inputs, or exploring the features of your receiver, Pioneer's free iControlAV5 remote-control app for iOS and Android allows full control of the VSX-90. You can even play back music stored on your smartphone using the receiver's Push Player feature.
Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration (MCACC Pro)
MCACC provides an optimized, multi-channel listening experience. MCACC Pro takes calibration even further, providing an optimized, multi-channel listening experience customized specifically to your room by measuring every speaker's connection, noting speaker size and distance from the listening point, as well as sound levels and timbre.
Subwoofer EQ
Subwoofer EQ establishes the distance and characteristics of your subwoofer, and makes adjustments using four different frequency parameters and a low-latency DSP to reduce phase and timing errors that can be found in other room calibration systems.
ESS Sabre 24-Bit DAC
The VSX-90 incorporates the ES9006 Sabre Premier audio DAC (digital-to-analog converter). This high-performance DAC provides enhanced digital-to-analog conversion with less jitter than other DACs.
Audiophile Files
The Pioneer VSX-90 supports audiophile-grade formats such as 192 kHz/24-bit AIFF, WAV, FLAC, and Apple Lossless up to 96 kHz/24-bit. Compressed formats, such as MP3, WMA, and AAC are also supported. Stream these files from your home network, tablet, or even the front USB. DSD direct playback via network or SACD disc playback via HDMI is also supported.
Eco Mode
The VSX-90 features an energy-saving ECO Mode that, when enabled in Standby, achieves a power consumption of only 0.1W. With a host of convenience features, including Network Standby and HDMI CEC support, ECO Mode analyzes your sources in real time, adjusting power consumption accordingly to meet demand. Or you can manually select the power-saving settings that are best for you.
