Wireless music options from computers and smartphones
I'm always looking for more ways to enjoy more music from more sources. When you connect the SC-81 to your home network, you'll open the floodgates to avast musical library for endless exploring. There's built-in support for Pandora and vTuner Internet radio, for free online music and radio streams fromaround the world. If you're a Spotify subscriber, you can play their huge library of tunes wirelessly using your Apple or Android device. Speaking ofApple, the SC-81 has AirPlay, so you can stream tunes from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or a computer using iTunes. There's also DLNA support forstreaming music from networked PCs and music servers, as well as wired options for MHL-compatible Android smartphones and tablets. AirPlay requires a wireless home network and a wired connection between the receiver and network.

The Elite SC-81 is powered by Pioneer's Class D3 amplification. These amps run much more efficiently than the Class AB amps found in mostreceivers. They're so efficient they actually earned Pioneer's Elite receivers an industry-first ENERGY STAR certification. You can use your computer,smartphone, or tablet to follow step-by-step instructions for making connections and tweaking settings. For Apple and Android devices, you'llneed to download the free iControlAV5 app. Not only does it give you access to AVNavigator, but it also lets you use your device as a Wi-Firemote once you're ready to start enjoying music and movies with this receiver. AVNavigator requires that the receiver be connected to the same home network as the computer, smartphone, or tablet used to run it.
