SmartEco Mode: Power Smarter

By detecting the input content to determine the amount of brightness required for optimum color and contrast performance, the SmartEco Mode is able to reduce lamp power while delivering the finest image quality. No compromise!

""

*SmartEco Mode, the dynamic power saving mode, can save at least 70% power based on the projection content level.

Eco Blank Mode

The Eco Blank Mode, which lowers power consumption down to 30%, can be used to blank the projection screen when the projector is not in use, eliminating distractions in class and redirecting students' focus back on the teacher.

Good Things Come in Short Distances

Zero Space Constraints

You don't need a big room or a lot of free ceiling space to create a big picture when you've got an ultra-short throw projector! Teachers can think outside the box to turn every corner into the perfect place for educational use.

Non Short-throw

""

Zero Shadow Disruptions

An ultra-short throw projector can be placed close to the screen in front of the class and well out of students' way, greatly decreasing shadow disruptions. Teachers can enjoy teaching without worrying about the class being interrupted.

Zero Eye-Blinding Lights

An ultra-short throw projector keeps the projector light from shining directly into everyone's eyes. The intensity of the projector beam may be potentially harmful, so short throw technology keeps light out of the way.

BenQ DLPProjectors

Long-Lasting Image Perfection with DLP Technology

Timeless Image Quality

BenQ's DLP Colorific Projectors are built with enduring enjoyment in mind, ensuring razor-sharp clarity, ultra-readability and true-to-life color for years to come. We use leading-edge DLP technology to reflect pure light from millions of micro mirrors on a DMD chip through our advanced color wheels. Since the mirrors are colorless and protected within a nearly-sealed engine, BenQ DLP Projectors have no aging problems and are virtually immune to image decay, consistently delivering picture excellence time and time again. In fact, after 2,000 hours of intense usage, inserting a new bulb produces image quality comparable to a brand-new projector.

DLP technology also affords a filter-free engine design ensuring long-lasting image quality and reduced total cost of ownership. BenQ's SmartEco technology further boosts contrast performance and image quality endurance while saving up to 70% on lamp power consumption.

Razor-Sharp Clarity with Ultra-Readability

Enabling a 96% fill factor, DLP Technology supplies pixel circuitry behind the pixel, eliminating the thick dark bezels around individual pixels, which diminish color and detail. A higher fill factor and less black border translate to noticeably purer, more intense color and smoother image quality.

BenQ DLP Projectors also feature high contrast ratios for flawless rendering of small text, fine lines, and dark scene details. Blacks are deeper and overall image quality is more focused and clean. Your presentations will be easily readable and highly effective, even from the back row of a well-lit venue.

""

Vibrant, True-to-Life Colors

Even in lit venues, BenQ DLP Colorific Projectors achieve the optimal balance of brightness and color accuracy, with BrilliantColor technology additionally boosting true-to-life colors that captivate. BrilliantColor enables up to six-color processing by incorporating the secondary colors Yellow, Cyan, and Magenta along with primary Red, Blue, and Green. From intense hues to elusive mid-tones like aqua blues and light yellows, your presentations are rendered in pure, living splendor.

With a 0.37:1 throw ratioMW843UST 3000-Lumen WXGA Ultra-Short Throw DLP ProjectorfromBenQis optimized for classroom and other applications where the projector is to be mounted or placed very close to the screen. A single lamp provides 3000 ANSI lumens brightness in Normal Mode, and a single-chip DLP imaging device renders a 1280 x 800 (WXGA) resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio image. Through scaling the projector can also support a range of non-native resolutions, up to Full HD (1920 x 1080) for video and UXGA (1600 x 1200) for computer sources.

Multiple ports allow the MW843UST to receive video from a variety of sources, including computers, Blu-ray Disc and DVD players, document cameras, and more. It features two VGA ports which also support component video sources when using a separately available component to VGA adapter, an HDMI port, an S-video port, and a composite port. A VGA output mirrors the selected VGA input so that you can connect a computer monitor or pass the video along to a second downstream device without a distribution amplifier. There are also two analog audio inputs and a single analog audio output to loop audio through to a sound system or amplified speakers. Providing direct audio output there are two built-in 10-watt speakers.

An IR remote is included for local operation. The projector can also be managed centrally via RS-232C or Ethernet. This means you can use automation systems such as Crestron or even access settings from a Web browser running on a computer that is sharing the same network. A unique IP address means multiple projectors of the same or similar model can reside on the same network and be managed independently.

Because of the close throw distance (35" maximum recommended), the projector is designed primarily for wall mount installation. A wall mount kit is included.
Ultra-Short Throw Design
With a 0.37:1 throw ratio it is possible to render a 100"-diagonal image with the projector mounted 37" away from the screen. By wall mounting at such a close distance the risk of shadow interference and dazzling specular reflections is greatly reduced.
3000 Lumens Lamp
A single lamp provides 3000 lumens brightness in Normal mode, and is estimated to last 3500 hours (up to 7000 hours in the lower brightness SmartEco Mode). To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screen surface used.
16:10 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features a 16:10 native aspect ratio. This is considered a widescreen format, and comes very close to the 16:9 standard of HDTV. This format is ideal if you plan to show HD video, and can still be used for presentations - though in the case of PowerPoints some extra space may be leftover on the sides. The projector can show 4:3 too; however black bars (pillaring) will have to be applied, or the image will have to be stretched or cropped to fit.
Single Chip DLP Technology
Uses a combination of a chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors and a color wheel to produce an image. DLP features less spacing between pixels and better contrast than many comparable LCD-based systems.
SmartEco Power Saving Mode
By detecting the input content to determine the amount of brightness required for optimum color and contrast performance, the SmartEco Mode is designed to reduce lamp power while maintaining consistent image quality.
Eco Blank Mode
Allows teachers or presenters to blank the projection screen whenever they need to direct focus back on them and not the image - or simply to save power when the projector is not in use. This mode can be configured to kick in automatically after three minutes of inactivity and the projector can automatically power off completely after 30 minutes of inactivity.
BrilliantColor Technology
Enables up to six-color processing by incorporating the secondary colors Yellow, Cyan, and Magenta along with primary Red, Blue, and Green to help provide more accurate color reproduction.
RS-232 and Ethernet Controllable
An RS-232 port means the projector can be controlled from a computer running custom software or via automation system such as Crestron. Meanwhile an Ethernet port allows it to be controlled across a local network using a Web browser.
