Features

The MW665 WXGA DLP Portable Multimedia Projector from BenQ gives you the flexibility of multiple video inputs, plus a USB port for "PC-less" presentations or to connect a compatible wireless dongle, available separately. It features a brightness of 3200 lumens in Normal Mode. A single-chip DLP device renders a native resolution of 1280 x 800 (WXGA) as well as a native aspect ratio of 16:10, a widescreen format close to HDTV's 16:9. Thanks to built-in scaling, it can accept non-native resolutions from as low as 640 x 480 (VGA) up to 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) for computer sources as well as 480i/576i (SD) up to 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) for video sources. A built-in lens provides 1.3x optical zoom and a throw ratio of 1.2 to 1.6:1.

Inputs are provided from most widely encountered display sources, including computers, A/V systems, video switchers, DVD and Blu-ray Disc players, document cameras, and more. It features two VGA inputs, which also support a component signal using a separately available component to VGA adapter or cable, an HDMI input, an S-video input, and a composite input. There are two analog inputs as well, one on a 3.5mm stereo mini and the other on stereo RCA. So that you can use a local computer monitor or connect an additional downstream video device without needing separate distribution amp there is a VGA output that mirrors the selected VGA input.

There are also two USB ports, a type A female port for giving PC-less presentations or installing the optional Wi-Fi dongle and a type B female port for direct connection to a computer. Ethernet and RS-232C ports allow remote operation, and it is even possible to give presentations from up to four connected computers over a local network. A pair of IR remote extender ports allows you to connect an IR "eye" (receiver), available separately, for installations where direct line-of-sight from the included IR remote to the projector's built-in receiver isn't possible.

PC-Less Presentations

You can connect a flash drive or other USB storage device directly to the projectors USB type A port to show slideshows without a computer. Supported file types include JPEG, JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, and TIFF

Supports Optional Wireless Adapter

Using a separately available Wi-Fi adapter (dongle)that plugs into the USB type A port of the projector you can give presentations from a Windows or Mac computer or iOS or Android mobile devices. To use this feature, install the QPresenter Pro app on the device you are presenting from. With the app you can show PDF, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel documents and image files. Alternatively, thanks to the Qpresenter Quick Connection feature, you can present from a laptop directly by selecting the network the Wi-Fi dongle creates, without having to install the app or other software

LAN Display

Ideal where the computer cannot be connected directly to the projector, you send both display and control signal over a single Ethernet cable. It is also possible to create a split screen with up to four computers showing on the same projector at once. To use LAN display, the QPresenter software must be installed on the computer(s) delivering the presentation

Ethernet and RS-232C Controllable

Control the projector remotely over a LAN using a Web browser or via Ethernet or RS-232C using control systems that support Crestron or protocol

Single Chip DLP Technology

Uses a combination of a chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors and a color wheel to produce an image. DLP technology features less spacing between pixels and better contrast than many comparable LCD-based systems, and the design does not require a filter that needs to be replaced

3200 Lumens Lamp

A single lamp provides 3200 lumens brightness in normal mode, and is estimated to last 3500 hours. To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screen surface used

16:10 Native Aspect Ratio

This projector features a 16:10 native aspect ratio. This is considered a widescreen format, and comes very close to the 16:9 standard of HDTV. This format is ideal if you plan to show HD video, and can still be used for presentations - though in the case of PowerPoints some extra space may be leftover on the sides. The projector can show 4:3 too; however black bars (pillaring) will have to be applied, or the image will have to be stretched or cropped to fit.

1.3x Optical Zoom with 1.2 to 1.6:1 Throw Ratio

Throw ratio is one of the most important specifications a projector lens has as it tells you the image size (width) you will get at a given distance from the screen. For example, at the 1.5:1 zoom setting and a 10' distance this projector will throw and image that is 6.7' wide

Vertical and Horizontal 2D Keystone Correction

Digitally corrects for the "keystone effect", the trapezoidal shape created when the projector is vertically or horizontally off-center - up to 30% for vertical and 25% horizontal. In 3D mode only vertical correction is available

Smart Eco Mode

Adjusts the lamp power to maximize power saving by delivering a balance of contrast and brightness based on the amount of ambient light detected in the room

Eco Blank Mode

Allows teachers or presenters to blank the projection screen whenever they need to direct focus back on them and not the image - or simply to save power when the projector is not in use

Audio Pass Through

With the built-in 2 watt speaker, the MW665 can be used as an audio system for a small group when it's in Standby Mode

0.5 Watt Standby Mode Power Consumption

Keeps the projector ready to switch back on when a source is detected while consuming 0.5 watts of power

33 dB Noise in Standard Operation

The projector cooling system produces roughly 33 dB in full brightness, which drops to 28 dB in the lower brightness Economic Mode
