TheMini Converter Heavy Duty - HDMI to SDI 4KfromBlackmagic Designallows you to convert HDMI to SD, HD, 3G, or 6G-SDI in resolutions up to Ultra HD 4K (3840 x 2160) and DCI 4K (4096 x 2160). This is useful for connecting consumer devices that output HDMI signals with professional SDI video equipment. This heavy duty model is machined from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum so it's durable enough for the most demanding live productions and outside broadcast environments. With a compact form factor and easy-to-use controls, the Mini Converter Heavy Duty is ideal for a variety of broadcast, post production, and professional AV applications.

Using 4K HDMI and 6G-SDI technologies, the Mini Converter Heavy-Duty supports resolutions up to UHD 4K at up to 30 fps and DCI 4K at 24 fps. It automatically detects the input video format and instantly changes between SD, HD, and UHD/DCI 4K formats. The two 6G-SDI outputs also support SD and HD-SDI signals for integration into existing workflows. Both 6G-SDI outputs send duplicate signals. Audio is embedded in the SDI output from either the HDMI input or from the two 1/4" input jacks which support 2-channel AES/EBU digital audio or balanced analog audio.

Settings are controlled using the built-in DIP switches or via USB using the included software for Max OS X or Windows computers. The USB port also enables the firmware to be updated. For powering the device, a 12V power supply is included with international socket adapters.

Work On Location

With low SDI jitter and SDI re-clocking you can use the longest lengths of SDI cable at live events and outside broadcasts without any loss of video quality. Relevant Heavy Duty models also feature a redundant input, so you can run a second cable as a back up. If the main SDI input is lost, the converter automatically switches over to the alternative input. This feature is great for outdoor use or in venues where working amongst large crowds may result in cable damage.

Standard Audio Connections

Mini Converter Heavy Duty uses standard 1/4 audio jacks for connecting balanced analog or AES/EBU digital audio, so you never need to buy custom audio cables! Audio from mixers and analog decks can be embedded into the SDI video signal.

Heavy Duty Design

Each heavy duty converter is precision machined from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum, designed to resist damage caused by rough handling in live production and outdoor use. Connections are recessed and protected by the aluminum chassis.

Easy Settings Control

Changing Mini Converters built-in mini switch settings can be done with a pen, a small screwdriver or any similar object! This is great when you need to change settings quickly on location, as there are no complicated menus to navigate! You can also control settings using the included Converter Utility software by connecting the converter to any Mac OS X or Windows computer! All models can be updated via USB 2.0 by simply downloading software upgrades from the Blackmagic Design website.
