Yamaha RX-A3080 Overview

 

Enjoy immersive multi-channel sound with the Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A3080 9.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver. It delivers up to 150W of power per channel at 8 Ohms and features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility for object-based audio support. Built-in Bluetooth and AirPlay support allow the receiver to wirelessly stream music from compatible sources, such as smartphones and tablets, while Yamaha's Compressed Music Enhancer helps to deliver optimized sound quality.

Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity allow the AVENTAGE RX-A3080 to access music from your connected computer or NAS. Amazon Alexa compatibility enables you to control certain functions of the receiver with just your voice through your Alexa-enabled devices. With seven HDMI inputs and three outputs, this receiver can act as a video switcher for your HD source components. It will pass through HDR UHD 4K signals and will upscale non-UHD signals to near-4K quality for enhanced viewing of lower-resolution sources when paired with a UHD display. The receiver also has a USB port for accessing media stored on USB flash drives. YPAO-RSC multipoint sound optimization will calibrate the receiver to your speakers and room setup for a tailored listening experience.

Total Purity Concept

The Total Purity Concept is designed to encompass high-drive amp technology, high purity preamplification, anti-vibration technology, and independent, pure power supplies. The receiver has fully discrete power amplifiers that help minimize distortion and adopts pure independent power supplies, allowing dedicated power supplies for the analog and digital circuitry to prevent digital noise from affecting analog circuitry. The anti-vibration heat sinks are designed to suppress vibration from transistors and sound pressure.

Anti-Resonance Technology

The Anti-Resonance Technology Wedge is a fifth foot in the center of the receiver. It is engineered to dampen vibrations from the power transformer, power transistors, and heat sinks, as well as vibrations that might be caused by the sound from the speakers.

Foundational Design

The feet of the receiver features a high-density structure that utilizes both straight and curved ribs to enhance strength and damping performance. This is designed to enhance installation stability and disperse chassis resonance, effectively eliminating external vibration. This helps to enhance low-range response, reduce resonance peaks in the mid- and high-range, and provide dynamic sound and accurate reproduction.

Aluminum Front Panel

The AVENTAGE RX-A3080 features an aluminum front panel to help shield sensitive circuitry from external noise and electronic radiation generated by dimmer switches, fluorescent lighting, video monitors, and the like. This helps ensure optimum sonic performance in a variety of installation environments.

Symmetrical Power Amplifier

The interior of the receiver has been circuit-routed and built so that the left and right channels are physically and electrically isolated, helping to maximize channel separation and enhance the signal-to-noise ratio while also helping to achieve an open sound stage.

H-Shaped Frame

The receiver is reinforced internally with cross-members in an H-shape to help provide a rigid, stable frame. This is designed to help reduce chassis vibration to virtually zero, even during high volume output, helping to maintain audio quality.

XLR Inputs

The RX-A3080 comes equipped with XLR balanced audio input/output terminals. In combination with a Blu-ray or CD player equipped with balanced output terminals, this enables high-quality signal transmission with reduced degradation of sound quality due to external noise. The balanced input terminals feature gold-plated connections produced by Neutrik.

Two ESS 384 kHz / 32-bit SABRE DACs (ES9026PRO & ES9007S)

ESS's 32-bit Hyper Stream Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) compensation function helps minimize noise levels. In combination with Yamaha's D.O.P.G. (DAC On Pure Ground) concept, which virtually eliminates the potential difference between two audio circuit stages to reduce ground noise, it enhances silence and resolution over the entire audio range for enhanced reproduction of even delicate sounds.

Surround: AI

This AI technology built into the DSP analyzes the scene of your content and creates a surround effect to help reproduce it with augmented reality. In real-time, this AI analyzes scenes by focusing on distinct sound elements, such as dialogue, background music, ambient sounds, and sound effects, and automatically enhances the surround effect to help provide greater realism.

HDR & UHD Support Over HDMI

This receiver can pass-through UHD video at 60 frames per second, as well as the HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG HDR formats for enhanced contrast and colors.

Three HDMI Outputs

With three HDMI outputs, you can simultaneously connect to your display, projector, and other devices to watch two separate video sources at the same time, or broadcast the same video source across all outputs.

HDMI Zone Switching

You can transmit video or audio content to a display or home theater system in another room (Zone 2) via HDMI, allowing you to choose whether you want to enjoy the same content as the main room or different content in both rooms.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay Compatibility

Built-in Wi-Fi allows you to connect the receiver to your wireless router, simplifying system connections for music streaming or enjoying networked audio from your computer or NAS. Bluetooth connectivity is also on board, allowing you to stream audio from your compatible device into the receiver, or out from the receiver to another Bluetooth device, such as a pair of headphones.

Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Playback with CINEMA DSP HD3

These object-based sound technologies are designed to create realistic surround sound by positioning and moving individual sounds to nearly any virtual point in your room, including overhead. The CINEMA DSP HD3 features augmented signal processing algorithms and three sets of processors for added realism and immersion.

YPAO-RSC (Reflected Sound Control with 3D, Multipoint Measurement, and 64-Bit High-Precision EQ)

YPAO-RSC analyzes room acoustics with the included microphone to tune your system for optimal sound in your room. It uses EQ RSC to correct early reflections for enhanced sound. YPAO 3D is engineered to provide automatic sound parameter optimization designed to maximize the 3D sound field effectiveness of CINEMA DSP HD3, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. 64-bit EQ calculation helps achieve natural room acoustics. Additionally, DSP Effect Normalization adjusts room acoustics according to the reflected sounds of each CINEMA DSP program.
