Features

The 0.5:1 throw ratio lens on the W316ST Short-Throw DLP Multimedia Projector from Optomamakes it ideal for classrooms, small conference rooms, rearprojection, and other tight spaces where the projector needs to be placed relatively close to the screen. It features the WXGA (1280 x 800) format, which -at a 16:10 aspect ratio - easily adapts to the 16:9 format of HDTV, and can also "pillarbox" to show 4:3 material undistorted. With a brightness of 3600lumens, combined with the short throw distance required, the W316ST provides sufficient output to overcome a reasonable amount of ambient light for use inrooms where the lighting cannot be fully controlled.

Just about every input possibility is covered on the W316ST. This includes an HDMI input with 3D support, two VGA inputs and one output, plus composite andS-video inputs for legacy SD equipment. There are two separate audio inputs to accompany the analog video inputs, and there is a VAO audio output thatloops through the audio accompanying whichever input is selected. In case a separate sound system is unavailable, there is also a built-in 10W speaker.

An IR remote is included, featuring a laser pointer and mouse control for giving presentations. It also has RS-232 for integration with control systemssuch as Crestron, plus an Ethernet port for control over a local network, helping reduce IT administrative costs.

Short 0.52:1 Throw Ratio
Throw ratio is one of the most important specifications a projector lens has as it tells you the image size (width) you will get at a givendistance from the screen. For example, at a 42" distance, this projector will throw an 81"-wide (96"-diagonal) image
Single-Chip DLP Technology
Uses a combination of a 0.65" chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors, and a color wheel, to produce an image. DLP features less spacing betweenpixels and better contrast than many comparable LCD-based systems
3600 Lumen Lamp
A single lamp provides 3600 lumens brightness in Normal mode, and is estimated to last 4000 hours (up to 7000 hours if continuously used in thelower brightness ECO+ mode). To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screensurface used
16:10 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features a 16:10 native aspect ratio. This is considered a widescreen format, and comes very close to the 16:9 standard of HDTV.This format is ideal if you plan to show HD video, and can still be used for presentations - though in the case of PowerPoints, some extra spacemay be leftover on the sides. The projector can show 4:3 too; however, black bars (pillaring) will have to be applied, or the image will have to bestretched or cropped to fit
HDMI 1.4a Mandatory 3D Compliance
This means you can watch 3D video from most HDMI 1.4a 3D sources, including Blu-ray Discs, many computer graphics cards, and select game consoles.Active 3D glasses - such as ZD302 - available separately
Powered VGA Port
A powered VGA port enables the projector to be used with the BI-EXTBG03 wireless VGA dongle, which is available separately
Remote Mouse Control
When connected to a computer via the mini-USB type-B female port (cable available separately) it is possible to use the projector's remote toprovide mouse navigation functionality. On top of that, the remote features a built-in laser pointer - effectively turning the remote into apresentation mouse
